A Place of Peace

A spectrum of luscious green, nestled side by side in perfect harmony, only the gentlest hint of hydrangea blue punctuating the lush forest canvas that hides a magical world below. No sound, just peace. A place to be still, a place to breathe. A sense of perhaps fairy folk silently holding their breath waiting for this grotto to once again become their own.

This hidden gem can be found in the grounds of Wentworth Castle near Barnsley. There was just something about this hidden area of the grounds that gave me, not only a sense of complete peace and contentment, but also a feeling of magic and wonder taking me back to my childhood years, daring to believe that perhaps it was the home to fairies.

We are never too old to dream and allow our imaginations to run free.
