Golden reeds and grasses searching for the slightest touch of warmth from the setting sun to thaw their icy roots, embedded in the chill of the winter water. The distant cooling towers
steaming in the night sky as if sensing the contrasting temperatures of the sky and land. A moment of peace as the power industry and nature become one as the sun sets, handing over
its power to the colossal towers ensuring energy seamlessly continues to flow as night falls. There just seemed something very poignant and beautiful about this moment I captured during
an evening walk along the banks of the River Trent in my home town of Gainsborough one winter’s evening. It almost felt as if the sun was handing over its energy to the power station at
West Burton to keep the town running until it rose again the next morning.
